Ha, knew a dog thread wouldn't get past you.

He's a Labrador/Dandy Dinmont cross. Very odd thing to look at ........ to top it all, the father was the dandy dinmont so think he was a persistant little bugger. He has the pretty much the body and weight of a small lab but with short little legs.

Touching Cloth, are you sure that's a dog and not a close-up of Jonathan Ross?

Careful, Steve, you know he reads PH to make sure you're not spending money.

Martin.

Why so many black and white dogs? It is an Arty Farty photographer thing?

How about a black-and-grey dog then, Martin? Our 11-year-old puppy, (well, he thinks he still is...) Perry.

This is Robbie - Half dog, half bat !

Yes, I know the framing is awful, but you try getting a strong willed Jack to sit where you want him !!

For the some of the best photographs of dogs, get Polaroids by William Wegman it's a fantastic coffee table book, gauranteed to raise a smile.

Meet ALFIE!!! Every time his name is mentioned, it's usually in an exasperated tone as a result of him being a little swine
