After 6 weeks of waiting and getting parts for everywhere, my clutch is finally being fitted today!!!!

Just a quick question, Is the new clutch under any sort of guarantee, once fitted in the car? Does the garage's work come under guarantee?

6 weeks , I thought the dry period had cleared up. Mine went on Sunday and still hopeful that it might be sorted in time for Le Mans, due to leave a week on Thursday - am I buggered

If you want to stop the new one from failing then set the pedal so that the clutch just opens enough when your foot is on the floor. As the TVR slave cylinder has no end stop the spring gets overstroked and then fails.

I hope your not buggered. Mine had been an ongoing battle. First the garage couldnt get a flyhweel, so I tracked one down, then they couldnt get the clutch sleeve, then they couldnt get a million otherbits!! I so hope you get yours done very quickly

Where did you get your clutch from??????

The clutch assembly was direct from TVR, but the slave cylinder, pistons etc, I got from Dream Machines. They are so helpful. Do you want their number?

I'd better get a clutch now! I dont actually own a cerb but its on my shopping list for the near future so if i order one now then by the time its needed then i should only have a few months wait . Wot else should i order? Windscreen?

I spoke to TVR-FIX today as mine is in for a clutch and they told me none where out there but they are looking!!!

The garage Im using didnt chase anywhere for parts, so I started looking around for them my myself.

TVR Power's Number is 0247 636 6177, a guy called Andy
Dream Machines is 01435 868 456 a guy called Richard

Both are excellent and will track down the parts for you

oh my word, you want beleive the latest. Garage just called saying they have fitted the clutch, new flywheel etc, but they have now found an oil leak, so are going to have to take it apart again!!!! This is getting beyond a joke now, when's Jeremy Beadle gonna pop out!!!

it sounds a little like someone is trying to make some money here - i hope you have asked for detailed parts / hours worked etc- i would also be asking for £ cost as it goes... just a thought

Phew, just off the phone, mine is not as bad as thought, clutch itself is ok and just my seals had gone, presumably I have dumped a load of fluid somewhere but should have it back this avo

As I understand it TVR Power have complete clutch kits on the shelves but are not allowed to sell them due to some legal shenanigans going on at the mo. Don't quote me on that though, could be bollox.

Me again, The garage is still investigating the oil leak. They have now had the car for 6 weeks, with gearbox out, clutch etc. They fit the clutch/flywheel on Monday and then say there is an oil leak. In your opinions would it be something they have done that would cause the oil leak?

Uh - oh, I hope this isn't going to be a problem...... I'm in the market for new clutch. Anyone know if there are any uprated one's / alternatives to AP available?

No - only AP via dealers.

I'm pretty sure TVR Craft have fitted a new triple plate clutch to Tusc-Al's Tuscan - I believe it requires a mod to the flywheel (could be wrong, I'm no engineer!) but it's a serious alternative - especially as AP are bound by their agreement with TVR not to sell direct to anyone (except Power maybe).
