Hoping someone may be able to help.
I am prepping my VY2 Clubsport for SVA, I have a fitted a rear fog lt, but not yet wired it. I have been searching the net for a wiring schematic for the car - in the hope that I can use existing (unused) wires instead of running a new wire, but no luck. Any one have access to a schematic (workshop manual, maybe) and can post a link/scan and upload or similar. Would prob be of use to CV8/VXR owners too.

Talk to Mark at Linden Special Vehicles (LSV), see the links section at the top of the page. He prepped the VT & VX's for HSV (UK) so should be able to help.

I'm looking at doing this as well and was thinking about wiring it to the front Fogs (button on the dash).

Both my HSV's had a seperate rear fog button (the same button as the front fogs) added to the dash. It looked fine, but I guess that they wouldn't have bothered to drill the dash etc.if there had been an easier way of doing it!
Mark @ LSV should be able to tell exactly how to do it, Paul (UK)HSV will also probably know.

I think you guys should wire it to a basic wire to a basic switch, pass MOT, then be careful it doesnt "accidentally fall off" till the next time. Ive been here 8 years and never used the rear fog yet. Though going to dover the other day, they do make the car in front slightly easier to see

I brought an origianl foglight switch and put it beside the front fog light switch and run nes cables very easy to do and looks like it is surpose to be there.

Thanks for the info guys.
The vy2 does not have a separate switch for the front driving lts (part of main lt sw), rear fog has to be separately switched from front lts, so new switch also has to be fitted.
Bovered79 - what type of lt did you fit on the rear?
DVLA will not pass a modded rear tail lt (MOT ok, but not for SVA). Also wiring has to be installed as manufacturer would have - wrapped, secured, grommets, etc.
This is why I was asking if any unused existing wires could be used to get from fuses/lt sw to rear of car. Noticed a single wire with terminal fitted adjacent to each tail lt (maybe rear side indicators?) A schematic or wiring diag would provide the answer and maybe other possibilities.

Weell it hasnt gone through yet i was going to wrap it all up in black electrical tape so it all looks legit. I used LED lights in the boot as i have the garnish on there i just took out to brake light and rewired it to the switch i am just going to tell them it was all installed factory and see if i get away with it.

Good luck with that Bov' but I think you may be disappointed. After doing a bit of research, I found out that the Lt has to be 'E' approved ( I bought one from Half*rds for a fiver), mounted right side of centreline, no closer than 150mm to a brake lt and at least 150mm(maybe 250mm) clear of the ground. This is to satisfy the SVA (DVLA).
'Lower cone of silence',
you didn't hear this from me, but, once SVA passed and uk rego achieved, the external lt can be removed and a modded tail lt will be sufficient to pass the annual MOT ( as the local garage will only check the lt works, not how it is installed) - this message will self destruct..................
