Years ago I used to take photos of naff shop titles (hey, I was unemployed). You know the sorta' thing... Hairdressers called 'Hair Today Gone Tomorrow' etc

Anyway... all my prints got lost in the first world war... but last week a chippy opened near me with a proper naff title. So I thought I'd post. Any naff shops near you?

(Actually, I think 'In Cod We Trust' would have been miles better).

Why did I ever think this wouldn't turn into a fish pun thread!

Trying desperately to get off the puns... my local hairdresser on the Kilburn High Road (circa 1980) had this above his door:

"I specialise in all styles"

A friend of mine lived opposite "Cod's Kitchen" which is nice. I'm still amused by "Jolops of Chard" personally

GC, is that deep blue a local planning requirement or has the chippy been opened by the bank? The bank plaque and the shop sign look to be about the same colour.

Or may be a new ploy from the banks, given the price of fish these days, to sell financial packages for people who need money to buy food?

Is that a fishing analogy to do with drag nets?
