changing the gearstick/handbrake leathers

has anyone changed the leather bits round the gear stick and handbrake? is it a hard job? all tips welcome

Gearknob just unscrews, gaitor is just shoved into the hole and pushed into place to make it look tidy.
Probably one of the easiest jobs you could do.
