As far as i know with replacement can that just slip on there is no need to add a power commander. (I am looking at putting a new can on the CBR600RR)
I do remember that my old man put some straight through exhausts on his Suzuki Intruder 750 and that did pop and bang allot. I do not know allot about power commanders but maybe Hobo or Chilli might have the answer for you.

My ZX-9 had an early Blue Flame can and that popped and banged all over the place on the overrun.
That had carbs but even after a dynojet and full rolling road setup it still did it..
Some pipes on some bikes are just like that..
Power Commander may be worthwhile if you want to optimise fuelling and iron out any emmission related flat-spots but methinks the pops n bangs 'll still be there!

Nice one, just had a quick ride and it seems to go pretty much the same as it did with the standard pipe. If anything the throttle response seems a little less snatchy if you know what I mean.
I'll continue to carry the baffles with me for the foreseeable just in case I attract any unwanted attention though.

Thanks for all your replies, I'm now suitably reassured.
I'm actually very suprised it runs so well with what is effectively a race can, I was expecting flat spots, but there appear to be none.
It now seems to rev more freely throughout the range and I find it much more rideable in first gear where in the past it was a little on/off.
The only thing is, although I love the noise, I do worry about it drawing unwanted attention so have been taking the baffles and allen key out with me just in case.

My TL has a full M4 system on it and is Loud!! I went past some Motorcycle police (at a steady pace) and they just nodded in approval so i do believe how you are riding plays an important part.

Without a doubt, no, the stock exhaust started blowing some time ago so I'd know if that were happening, also there is only one place for it to leak (where it is clamped to the standard pipe under the bike and this is deffinataly tight.
Been out on it again today and I'm sure its a bit faster and the power delivery smoother than before.
By the way, already got in the habbit of knocking it up a gear or declutching when I see plod.
