I'VE LOST MY PASSPORT ! ! ! ! ! ! !
Discussion
You can get a replacement one in time, but it will likely cost you both money and time to arrange, as it may need a visit to a passport office. Have a look www.passport.gov.uk/passport_replacing_urgent.asp for what to do.
I'll try and be slightly more helpful than my first post....
My parents had their documents stolen when they were off of Tenerife a month or so back. A replacement passport was issued by the consulate in Tenerife after a few phone calls to arrange but had to be collected in person on their way to the airport.
However...this was only valid for one trip and was taken off them at Stansted when they flew back.
Would suggest calling the nearest consulate asap which I guess is Malaga or Gibraltar for you ??
Either that or bribe the kids to search the house with a large amount of chocolate on production of said passport !
Best of luck.

Martin.
A friend of mine did the same thing last year, spoke to the passport office and then drove to Peterborough (passport office) and waited whilst they processed it, had a nice new passport within a couple of hours.
Hints,
be the first in the queue, therefore get there at sparrows!!
do not take no for an answer, they will do it while you wait.
get on the phone asap!
Friend of mine went on a day trip to France last month. His brother who had travelled from Wales where he's working, back to essex for the weekend and the trip to France, left his passport in the valleys!! They didn't want to cancel the trip and he ended up getting into and out of France using his uncles passport who is 35 years his senior!! Apperently they hardly even looked at the passports.

Last time I drove between Spain & France, I didn't need a passport?.....
Me neither, and that was 13 years ago.As he's in Spain he must have used his passport to get there so he's obvious got it somewhere and my bet is still it's in the car.

Unfortunately, I think Martin is flying to the UK first and then hitching a lift as a passenger in another Noble; therefore gets a bit more complex.
If it really comes down to it, you could try travelling with your wife's and if/when it gets noticed just plead stupidity and see what the airlines will do - bit of a hairy way of doing it mind
Once in the UK, any passport office will issue you one in a few hours, but you must have an appointment and have all the documents ready and signed appropriately before you get there..
Mine was due to expire whilst on the Le Mans trip a couple of years ago and Peterborough office sorted me out about 10 hours before the ferry left, though I did have to phone a week or so to arrange it.
Wonder how many others of us have just had a heart attack and tore through the house to double check? Oh, jyst me then..

unfortunately to get in and out of the UK you WILL need the passport ...
for some reason we have not signed the schengen agreement...

Most anywhere else in europe and your drivers licence will be fine, and even then they will probably not care!!!
edited to say - i know that was as much use as a handbrake on a canoe, but at least you know that you cannot wing it.

All is not lost
Yes, the original plan was to fly back to the UK and hitch a lift there and back (Sunday night in Paris) then fly home (Spain) on the Tuesday.
Just got back from the Consulate in Malaga and have an "Emergancy Passport" (piece of posh paper with a stamp on it, EUR68 so I can enter my own country!
)
While in Malaga checked out the trains to Le Mans. 25 hours, 5 train changes and EUR200! Pretty much resigned to that when I had a brainwave. Was going to spend £600 shipping the Noble home in a couple of months anyway, so now we are on plan C. I'm going to drive the Noble to Le Mans and then back to the UK after the race.
