Had to post this with the talk of F1 going on and a few comments on another thread about MotoGP.

In Mugello, Schumaker was taken around the track on the two seater Duke by Randy Mamola (fair bit of it on the back wheel) and said afterwards that he couldn't believe how fast it was out there and how much the bike moved around.

Michael admitted to patting Randy on the back a couple of times to remind him he had a race at Silverstone that he wanted to live for! He also stood and watched in awe as 6 to 7 riders battled it out for the win for almost the entire race!..thats racing!

I'm pleased to say that my tickets have arrived for the Donnington MotoGP today but I will still enjoy Silverstone this weekend for the pure engineering of it all (it's the car that wins though...not the driver).

But bike racing is where the thrills are at!!!....and the skill!

I'm so glad that "Doctor" Rossi is staying in MotoGP as F1 is far too clinical and lacking in personality. Once he beats Agostini's record he will be into the World Rally cars.....ye-haa!...

Going to look for a hotel as the wife is going and if I wanted to camp the gsxr would not cope with the minimum of an air bed required by her to sleep on....! Will probably be at Craner curves for the race.

Donnington is OK, but if you really want atmosphere then go to Jerez or Mugello. I'm also glad that Rossi is staying in Motogp, but my money is on Capirossi this year. After seeing him riding close up you have to be impressed how he just opens the throttle and clings on :-)

Capirossi or Hayden could do it but write Rossi off at your peril! I think I'll buy my ticket for the final race of the season now!

Just back from riding down to see the motogp at mugello. The atmos was incredible with the organisers and fans just having a good time with a cursory nod to safety. They actually allow everyone onto the track when the racing is finshed...but on scooters , mini bikes etc....going in both directions! As bikes arrived to park in the circuit self appointed 'judges' were getting the riders to rev up the engines and award marks out of 10 for noise.

God knows what the italians and spanish think when they come to donington
