Couldn't see what lens mount was used...anyone? 3 lenses with a 16-135mm range doesn't sound very useful if it's a new lens mount.

Martin.

I think old Minolta lenses can be used as well as new Carl Zeiss lenses.

It will be introduced with 19 high-quality Sony lenses, and will be compatible with most of the former Konica-Minolta Maxxum® mount lenses. The system will include a wide range of accessories as well.

Its basicaly a KM camera that they were working on with sony towards the end, so hasnt been sony'd to much so far.

A 5D update/refresh. Same 10mp sensor as the d200, anti shake, built in dust cleaner, KM mount for a lot of lenses, all in all a decent move into dSLR for sony yet it doesnt match up to a lot of the lens prices (more pro than consumer) so there prob planning a more pro camera later.

I used to be a Minolta user in pre-digital era, so I always have a soft spot for them, but I'm kind of glad that I'd made a switch before all this mess happened.

In theory this looks like an excellent package;
Image stabilization built into the body and a method of preventing/removing dust
from the sensor, is a combination I've not seen before on any D-SLR.
And, the Zeis lenses should be good.

If it has a decent viewfinder - I'm interested.

I went passed a Jess*ps today so I popped in to have a look at it.
I didn't like the grip in my hand at all .... I know it's personal
but it's put ME right off; it felt very 'cheap' - shame

Saw it this week and it looked good . . . didn't touch it yet. Dust-cleaner on the sensor is on my E300 too. Bit pricy competition considered . . .

Must say I'm not that impressed . . .

As an ex Minolta user I wanted to try one, and Jessops obliged me last weekend. I also got them to let me try it alongside the 30D and the D70 they had, and the one thing that struck me was how noisy the shutter release was, a lot louder than the Canon or Nikon; easily noticeable even in a noisy shop.

Image Stabilisation and sensor cleaning/protection are two key features I like, but I'm too far down the Canon lens route to change to anything else, and still use Canon film SLR's for my landscapes and B+W anyway.

I like my 20D, but I am struggling to clean the sensor fully after Le Mans.
