I feel i must post in support of KwikFit. They get bad press on almost every forum I visit. I spent 3-4 days trying to source matching front and rear Michelin Pilot Sports (N1) for my '97 993 c2s and nobody I could find on the web or phone could do it...except my local KwikFit. Exemplary service (order time <24hrs), good banter and invited me to watch the tyres being removed, fitted, balanced and re-fitted. All done in a very exact and professional way with no damage. They asked me how much I wanted to pay and undercut (marginally!) the cheapest deal i could find on the web (who couldn't supply the fronts). Thanks to the KwikFitters! No associations etc...etc...!

Bravo. Nice to hear some good news about KF for once. I have to say, my local branch is always friendly, but I have never had any work done there as they are always so hugely expensive.

How did you get them to ask you how much you wanted to pay? Do they have a pricematch service?

Sounds good, but aren't PS2s now availble in those sizes?

They sorted out my wheel balances just on a call in, very quick, polite, did a good job and about £24

My mate always went to KF for his STi.

They always undercut the best price he could find.

Might try it next time instead of Mytyres

The branch manager told me he would match any quote I got.

They may well be, I'm not sure to be honest. I was eager to try Pilot Sports and extensive efforts countrywide were unfruitful. The tyres I got don't say '2' on the tyrewall or on the receipt. However, after a VERY spirited drive on a glorious day in Scotland they felt very grippy and confidence-inspiring (even though my shocks are knackered!)
