rear wiper useful?
Discussion
What they said. Only useful first thing on a morning. Its most annoying feature is the way it comes on when you select reverse within 30 seconds of using the front wipers, smearing a mess everywhere because of the lack of a washer. You can only turn this function off if you have Sport Chrono. You won't miss it.

Thanks, I'm choosing today btwn 2 cars, one has the rear wiper and one not.
My worry was: in bumper to bumper traffic, with beads of water covering the rear screen, and not seeing a cyclist/motorbike.
Your experiences folks?
Never been a prob. Think it must clear itself pretty well somehow. My worry was: in bumper to bumper traffic, with beads of water covering the rear screen, and not seeing a cyclist/motorbike.

I had the same dilemma when specc'ing my Cayman and I opted for it.
Reason is I need to do some reversing to get my car out of my drive and in the cold when the screen has dew on it, its cr*p to get a towel and wipe the window before you get in your stunning P & J!!
Also I like to see what's behind in traffic in the rain.
Interestingly mine was faulty shortly after delivery and I had a loan Cayman for a week without a wiper... and REALLY missed it!

Agree (ducks for cover)...was sitting in usual tailbacks the other week...absolutely torrential rain, couldnt see a damned thing, and *did* find it useful seeing bikers/other cars behind when changing lanes.
At speed though, it clears itself. Wouldnt be top of my wishlist though!
