Facelift 996 at Camtune

I was wondering if anyone had been to look at the cheap facelift 996 Camtune has in.

I'm tempted to go have a look at it, but with a 5 hour round trip, I dont want to do that to turn up and its a dog and be told 'what do you expect at this price'.

So if anyone has looked at it, and has an opinion, please drop me a mail.

Two things spring to mind from the ad.
No mention of a service history , much less a Porsche one
Savannah interior ... Hung drawn and quartered by PH posts on more than one occasion , but a personal favourite of mine (and I've got good taste , ask my wife , for example!!)... You may find it difficult to sell on though, and its definitely one of the reasons it's 'cheaper'.

A savannah interior is about as welcome as an RMS failure IMO. I've discounted quite a few cars that I would otherwise have bought simply because of a savannah interior. Lovingly known amongst my friends as puke brown

But 'a mate of a mate' reckons the black interiors suffer far less RMS failures

hey MT - that would be great if you could spare the time...

really just a quick glance over it to let me know its general condition would be great...


I realise the interior isnt to everyones taste, and originally put me off, and it is overbudget, but, well, it could be worth it

I just have your mantra churning in my head "buy on condition"... so i'd just like to know its good to mint before spending my whole [sunny] saturday sat on motorways..

with the trade-in value of my IS, and lack of response as a private sale... I'm thinking I might just have to put the 911 dream on hold for a while...


It might sound odd that i'm quibbling over a couple of grand when looking to spend over 30, but after everything i've lost on depreciation, i've spared no expense on the upkeep, if its that worthless I may as well get everything out of it i can

When I was looking it was all I could do to keep a dealer on the phone for any more than a minute.

I think only 10% could be ad to call back.

I actually went out of my way to find one with Savannah - I think it sets of the darker exterior colours nicely, my one isn't fully Savannah though it has partly a dark blue/black dash and carpets. A lot of friends have commented specifically on how much they like the interior since I bought mine

The one at camtune seems v. cheap albeit it is up a bit on the miles and no mention of FOPCSH. I paid quite a bit more for my 02 Lapis blue C2/Savannah and I negotiated 2K off the showroom price for a cash sale, albeit it is full porker history and 20K miles, it does have a lower spec than Camtunes

Ahh .. A fellow savannah man .. Lets watch each others backs , shall we!! .. There's plenty of non-believers out there..

(For the record , I think your combo of lapis / savannah is the best Porsche have on offer.. Watch out now .. )
