550 upgrade....
Discussion
Well those of you that know me will know that I always like to fiddle with my car pre Le Mans....with the 355 it was the ITO exhaust one year then the Gruppe M upgrade then the brakes ...zzzzz I digress.... anyway now the 550 is in the stable I have been thinking for a while that i have never really liked the standard wheels adn was looking for the 575 modular alloys to put on...however Ferrari must have got my enquiry confused with a diamond encrusted Rolex as the price was just daft for wheels alone..... SO....I finally upgraded them (IMHO i consider them an upgrade) to the ones you can see in the picture....at the same time I was offered to have a handling pack set up which I volunteered for...so the car is now less understeery , does not pitch adn yaw in the corners and feels a lot nimbler (getting used to it feeling 'lighter ' at the rear!!) - it also does not lift or dip under acceleration / braking now and is about 15mm lower than standard - when you switch sport mode on it is tremendous in the twisties....however with new rear tyres I ahve been slowly increasing the cornering speed bit by bit as I do not fancy a Torvill adn Dean routine into the hedges..... it is now sitting on 255x19x35 on the front and 355x19x25 on the rear.....personally I think it looks the nuts but be interested to see what others perception is..... FYI work was carried out in excellent fashion by the boys at Scuderiasystems in a very short space of time in a superb fashion.....will update after Le Mans as to how it is all behaving....
