Morning,

Im looking to insure a 968cs, iv tried A plan and they will not insure the car for track use(suprised as advertising on PH). Can anyone recomend a company who will insure the car for both road and track use?

thanks

Hi

Try the specialists like AON, Adrian Flux, Norton Insurance etc. I have heard Norwich Union are OK too.

Classic Line are the best by far. Cover me for all Porsche track days with others only £70 extra. Limited mileage may be your only problem if you use the car every day.

Agree - for everyday try Privilege, for track cover and limited miles try Classicline (they are in Lutterworth, Leics, so google or yell should find the number for you).

You might want to try Ann Manning. They gave a talk at our local PCGB region recently and they seemed to be good. They cover PCGB trackdays and also ones run by the companies that are registered with the trackday associations.

I had a lot of problems with cover when I was under 30 but Direct Line were the cheapest but I didnt ask about track cover.

I have just had my renewal through from Performance insurance for £586.62 based on 5000 miles but no track cover. They also dont need any NCB because it is a classic policy. Tel 08700 466 570

Francis -

Chris at Bickley is a top man however, NU keep screwing people over with their insurance. When I took out my first policy with Bickley over a year ago, I was told trackdays £60, european cover no problem. That turned into £135 per trackday (without any reason), a limit of 5 track days per year and they pulled the european cover completely. I believe european cover has been reinstated but I wouldn't go with NU again unless my choices were severly limited.

As with all insurance policies - GET EVERYTHING IN WRITING..

Edited to say - pleased you found Mannings was good.. sorry I missed your request for their phone number!

My 968 costs £375 a year with Classic Line on 5000 miles a year! I was 25 when I took the policy out in October! As said before covers Porsche Trackdays!

With my Boxster I had to have a standard policy then either go un insured or take out extra cover for Track days! I only took the extra cover out once....

Excellent, they have just quoted me £346.49. £150 cheaper than my renewal. Thanks for the information.
