Hi Tamora owners,

I may need to ask my dealer to raise the ride hight of my Tamora (assuming this is possible?). Has anyone done this on the standard suspension, if so:

1) how much did you raise the ride height?
2) are there any pictures of Tamoras with the ride height increased?
3) any impact on handling?

My car is a September 2003 and is at the original ride height.

The reason I may need to raise the ride height is that the car is grounding at the front when entering the car park for my new flat. I'll be trying a wooden ramp I have built on Saturday morning, but if this does not work I'll be looking to raise the ride height (say 10 - 15mm?).

Thanks,
Ian

This needs to be professionally set up otherwise you will alter the handling characteristics. But I believe the spring platforms are adjustable (up/down).

Thanks, I'm hoping to avoid this measure to be honest. Will find out when I try my wooden ramp out, but as the problem area is in the public part of the car park I won't be able to leave the ramp there permenantly even if it does work.

I'd ask my dealer to do the work if it comes to it. May even consider getting a suspension upgrade at the same time - e.g. Nitrons.

Would be keen to hear input from someone who has changed the ride hight and see a picture. I found a thread with T350s but not Tamoras - but I asume the impact (if any) on handling is comparable?

I had an 03 Tam. Had the ride hight adjusted to the latest spec in August 05. I beleive that the front is now 15mm higher and is a no cost adjustment covered by the factory. Speek to your dealer.

Car handled so much better with new settings.

The front ride height is increased and the new dimension used to measure the platform position is 15mm (it doesn't quite correspond to a 15mm ride height increase), although this mod was only carried out under warranty for very recent cars.

I had mine increased for similar reasons. If you email me I can send you back a TVR sanctioned document showing you all the approach angles etc.

Thanks all, I will discuss bringing my settings upto the latest spec with my dealer (sounds like this will help & my Tam may handle even better!).
