Hi folks,

I keep getting this when I open I Explorer:

"The Instruction at "0x7470b439" referenced memory at "0x7470b439". The memory could not be 'read'. Click OK to terminate the program.

IF I click OK it shuts down Explorer. If I click the red cross to exit, it does the same thing but not always. Microsoft help have not heard of it , or so it seems.

I have Googled it and it appears associated with a programm I have not seen.

AVG Professional anti-virus installed with Windows XP

Anyone know the solution?

Cheers.

Whats your homepage and do you use msn?

Try reinstalling internet explorer and msn, as that would seem to be a common problem on t'internet.

I get this when I exit "older" non-XP programs running in XP. Doesn't seem to do much harm to my machine.
Sorry that wasn't much help but you may have installed something recently that is not fully XP compatible that effects the instruction set in Explorer (older version of "who lock this" or something).

Most recent change was the homepage from Wanadoo to Orange. That was done by the ISP.

Has it installed a "search bar" or pop up blocker?

I see no search bar and it offers a free pop up blocker which I did not take.

Further to this if it helps anyone, MS have now recognised the problem and say it is caused by an issue with Adobe Reader 7.0.7,Adobe Acrobat 7.0.7 or Adobe 3D.

Adobe are working on a fix. A temporary workaround is "do not click any browser buttons while a PDF is downloading".

Thanks to all who responded.
