sendor or gauge

So now my temp guage needle wont point to more than 70, it used too... I know the engine is hotter cos the rad's hot and the fans come on.

I cleaned the space terminals on the sendor but made no difference. I also noticed the red cap on the sendor holding the terminals rotates...

I think it's more likely the sendor is knackered - what do you think ?

Agree.
They don't like vibration. Temp senders are the major failure in the old Rover V8 EFI.
