Poor tickover after fuel pipe replacement
Discussion
I have replaced leaking rubber fuel pipes and in the process removed the plenum chamber to provide better access. No more fuel being sprayed over the rocker cover but the tickover and light-throttle running is now lousy. Its OK when using lots of throttle but frequently cuts out when the throttle is closed. I have cleaned out the stepper motor and the butterfly valve without improvement. I have re-sealed the plenum chamber with gasket sealant and put new PTFE tape on the stepper motor thread. Any ideas ?

Try this little trick, do the usual disconnect of the ECU, if you can get it to run just long
enough to squeeze / pinch the pipe closed that connects the stepper & phenum (briefly), this
resets the base idle. If it works it should settle down to normal tickover... good luck.

Many thanks for the tip.
It didn't work but then it never would cos I found that I was the culprit all along - by not re-attaching one of the breather pipes to the plenum chamber - silly bu66er.
Neverthless, I have now plucked up courage to disconnect the ECU - just in case I need to do that again in the future.
