Anyone done this..? or know how to ?

I have seen a couple of 355s' on german websites (at dealers) that are around 5000 GBP cheaper than the equivalent car here... being in the UK.. is it as simple as just driving it over...? what paperwork need to be done ? Any conversions need to be done.. e.g. headlights ? etc..

as most LHD 355's i have seen here (at dealers) are german imports..

would be good to chat to someone here if they have done this...

thanks..

Hi slick,
I imported a Brabus SV12 from germany and it is pretty straight forward. You will obviously need the german documentation the most important is the fahresbreuf (probably spelt this wrong) which is the german V5. Very important the car must have had the duty paid in the country of origin or you will have to pay the v.a.t. this side. You'll also have to convert the lights and show proof of this via an invoice from whoever carried out the conversion to meet UK law or bills for the components. Technically the speedo must show mph, headlights to rhd spec and the car must be fitted with indicators on the side of the vehicle ie.front wings. A lot of cars in germany do not have these as they are a UK thing.
good luck in your quest

I've just my 355 headlights tweeked for driving on the right for Lemans trip. Dealer told me its just an internal adjustment. So headlights should not be an issue.
