Sorry for the non-motoring related content but I don't much like the way they're sneaking this in with the sex law changes to protect children. The paedophilia laws are fair enough, but making it possible to get locked up for six months for two adults having consentual sex in a public place, even your own garden if it's visible from the road?

Well, Bonce. I think you are quite right. In our legitimate rush to protect minors from abuse we could be introducing legislation that restricts personal freedoms in an unreasonable way.

Very, very few individuals deliberately have sex where they could be seen and cause offence. It certainly isn't something that I'm concerned about as a resident of my town.

I'm rather more concerned about crimes of violence against property and people, myself.


More important in that article was the fact that yet more rights of the rape suspect are to be waived in a blind attempt to increase conviction rates.

By all means we shold pursue these cases vigourously until the truth is known. But precisely because its such a vile crime one must be very, very sure of guilt. It seems to me that we're getting to the point where all the evidence required will be the sworn statement of the victim - after that what's to stop anyone from accusing anyone else and getting them sent to jail. Not a whole lot, frankly.
