Nope, that's why I don't understand these M3 vs 996 debates.

Also liked the way he opened the door swiftly to usher the little oik out of the car, instead of just letting him be

so true, when i was a kid the guy at the end of the road had one, reg A911 POR even after a couple of years it still had that whooaa factor everytime he came back from work.

have to admit though the F40 down the way beat it in whooaa factor everytime

I used to get dropped off at school in a Ferrari.

Still yearned for a 911 though.

A bit schmaltzy, but it still rang true. My mum and dad's garage is full of old school books of mine, and most of them have 911s doodled on the front covers. One question, though. How come the driver's seat is set up for him? There's no way your typical 50-year-old American Porsche buyer would fit behind that wheel...

(Edited because I was too busy drawing 911s to learn how to spell)

It was my first ride in an old 911 targa as a five year old which got me. Never forgotten it and have never wanted anything so badly since. Excellent advert.

I'm like that now, and I'm 28!

Awesome advert - totally reminiscent of how most of us spent our childhoods...

remember going into the Porsche garage on my own when I was about the same age(Ian Antony in Wilmslow as it was then),and being told dont touch the car, clear off-and you cant have a brochure.Mentioned that a couple of family members had bought cars from there as well as friends parents but it made no difference.
