Stuttery at constant revs.

My 4ltr 98 Chimaera has just had its head, valley & manifold gaskets replaced and when I picked it up it seems very stuttery at constant revs.
This is much more than the standard characteristics of RV8 tivs, and it wasn't there before. I've checked the obvious things like HT leads and I've been told to check the vacuum advance pipe (which I'll do when I get home). Is there anything else I should check?
The garage are more than happy to take a look at it for me, but the problem is I'm going to Le Mans in it on Wednesday and can't get it to them before I go.
