Clutch adjustment 280i

The "Bible" discusses the various types of clutch operation, and understandably says correct adjustment is important,BUT nowhere can I find what the adjustment on the cable should be! I put on a new cable about a year ago, and set it up as it was before the old one let go, but is it right? Anyone have the RIGHT adjustment numbers?

Usual method is to ensure there's just enough play in the cable that it's not trying to release the clutch...

The Capri (2.8i) handbook gives correct free travel at the end of the clutch pedal...(the bit you stick yer foot on) as 27mm plus or minus 4mm.
That's assuming the mechanism is similar.
