I have recently bought a Tamora and am loving every second I drive it (never thought it would be this much fun!). However most times I start it, I get the following 2 warnings:

- Oil pressure warning (I think fault number 18?)
- EFI fault (I think fault number 4?)

Can anyone advise? It is not a permanent warning so hopefully nothing serious...

Many thanks,

Flagpole.

EFI code 4 - according to the previous owner, mine has done that from new. Only appears on start up. Had it checked over by the dealer who confirmed there was nothing to worry about, as long as it doesn't reappear when driving. It was a glitch in the ECU software from what I can gather and was cured by a software upgrade sometime mid 2004.

I occassionally get a low oil pressure warning at start up too, but clears on it's own straight away (milliseconds!). Again, told nothing to worry about.

So looks like you can just get on with enjoying driving it - they really are awesome.

hi, the last time i got EFI fault 4 it was after i'd either overfilled the fuel tank and/or after it had regurged the fuel. A mechanic at london tvr advised me he had better have a look, so he did..sorry i cant remember exactly what the risk was but he sorted it.

Oil pressure warning - every time I start until the pressure builds up over the first couple of seconds or so.

EFI warning - 1) I've had it very briefly only a couple of times on startup but cleared almost instantaneously; 2) I did have it come on 'properly' a couple of years ago, but I was close to the summit of the Sustenpass in Switzerland (over 7000 feet) - it does this at very low air pressures! Luckily I was expecting this from a previous PH thread, so it meant that I didn't have brown trousers as a result. The fault code disappeared when I came down the other side of the pass. The factory told me when I originally collected the Tamora that the EFI fault code is the only code where you really need to stop as quickly as possible.
