Whats documents?
Discussion
Being completely unorganised, and still not having any accomodation when we get there I thought I better get one thing sorted. Someone mentioned I need to take documentation, can someone enlighten me as to what I require?
And will photocopies do as I'm bound to loose all personal belongings during the course of the weekend?
Thanks

Most car insurance policys now have EU European cover as standard. Green cards are nolonger required just check your policy. If your policy is not covered this way contact your insurance company and they will add Euro cover for little or no money.
E111 health form, now in plastic card style is always essential when traveling in any EU nation.
Breakdown cover is advisable, have seen many english reg cars on trailers or broken down on the roadside. RAC cost me aprox £40 for 5 days cover, a small price to pay for peace of mind.
As for the rest just standard stuff really,
V5
Driving Licence
Travel Insurance
Oh and your passport, lol.

from past experiance ...
V5 - Plod will ask for this if you have ANY incident
Insurance - as above
Card AND paper licence bits - as above
you dont need to worry about MOT.
for your own referance, make sure you have international dial numbers for your insurers (got caught out on this earlier in the year, only 0800 numbers on the documentation!!!) and copies of any Relay.
Make photocopies of all (both sides of card licence) and offer these first. Only offer real stuff if Gendarme Plod gets insistant.
Handy to make photocopies of your passport too, that way if you do loose it, at least you know what your passport number etc is when you are begging at passport control!!!
edited to say - speeking from past experiances of being a muppet myself and not travelling with all the doco ... some plod will be understanding, some will treat it like proctology ....

I only picked up my new car on Saturday and don't have a V5 yet. Any idea what I should take instead to cover myself? ie. dealer invoice, etc.
No idea at all, but that is one seriously nice car you have there
I also picked up a new car last week.
Obviously insurance etc is no problem so as I couldn't get a V5 I asked the garage to write a letter on their letterhead to confirm the sale and transfer of ownership.
