Ouch,

Booked my Chim in for a mini service prior to Le Mans, straight forward enough.

Unfortunately came out with an eye wateringly, pant cackingly, wallet bashing bill.

The plus side is the car now drives brilliantly, it's even faster and it even sounds better!

The negative side is I now have to sell part of my body to pay the credit card bill.

I need reassurance, I need people to say things like "it's only money" and "you can't put a price on pleasure", I need a big pistonheads hug.

Please help!

Seeing as you've asked.................Its only money, no point being the richest person in the graveyard, your kids will only go and blow it on loose wimen and fast cars so why nt spend it yourself .

Is that enough , now enjoy LeMans and the drive down .

Al, don't worry, I've spent every penny I've got on this bloody race car of mine, so far it's cost me £400 to £500/lap or so and it still needs money spending on it, latest on the list is replacing the clutch I blew at Pembrey.
If anyone can sponsor me, there's plenty of sticker space on the car and I can put together a decent hospitality package for the remaining rounds at Snett, Rockingham, Mallory, Brands and Oulton!!!

Iain

by blowing it on loose women and fast cars
If you didn't spend it on fast cars you would only waste it on other trivialities like food, mortgages etc.

Feel better - I've also just recieved a similar bill - and am driving a Micra while the work happens... and there's even more planned in for the end of the year...! Where's the justice in that? Still, she should be back on the road for the weekend (assuming the parts arrive in time!)

It's only money...etc etc DOH!

Just give up boozing and you should find that extra cash no problem!

Just had some outlay on mine as well, but hey the CC bill won't arrive till after Lemons, so no need to worry..... er till then. Anyhow i expect the first few hours at Le Mans will erase any lingering financial memory.

Have a good one

Oh yea  its only money....

Fair enough - cut down the boozing... or just drink the strong stuff!

It was a serious clutch problem that did it for me, unfortunately I also fear for my cam so there's more pain on the horizon. I really can't say it was cheap sorry but I will certainly make sure I look after the clutch so that it lasts as long as poss.

Thanks for all the manly hugs, I'm feeling slightly better about it this morning after a good blast to work. The car is so well sorted now!

Needless to say, it had better behave to and from Lemons otherwise I am going take a large tree branch to it fawlty style. I swear the car now looks at me like a scolded cat!

Alastair

Just picked up the thread and sorry about the servicing costs on your Chimaera.

I just paid my final bill from Sportmotive and #### me did it hurt, Le Mans was almost anon event.

However after some deep breathes and very sad begging the trouble and strife finally agreed to the trip. But I am on a very tight budget, which means no Beer just Tap Water.

Well I am filling the back shelf of the Chim with slabs of beer so if you are passing Houx Annexe then drop by for some tinnies, in fact everyone's welcome! Would be good to share a beer or two with some p'headers.
