Cig Lighter and Fuse

Hi All,

My lighter decided to come away from it's housing yesterday, and as a result i think a fuse blew, as my stereo also gave up the ghost (right in the middle of the Boy Kill Boy album aswell!)

Anyone know which fuse it is that needs changing, what type of fuse it is, and whereabouts i will find the defunct one - i'm guessing the boot, but which box?

Fuse is in the main fuseboard on the right hand side of the boot. It is a 15 amp IIRC. Cannot remember which one it is, but it is on the diagram in the owners manual. Whn I popped mine all sorts of odd stuff happened along with it... including the drivers door failing to open via the button.

only noticeable things to have gone funny are the interior lights, stereo, and the horn

Mine was wired that way aswell.
You need fuse No. 7 10AMP.

Strange, because i checked Fuse 7 after reading the same in the manual, but that seemed to be intact, but fuse 8 was definitely blown. Will see if the radio works again when i finally get the lighter properly connected and a new fuse 8 in place

my fuse 7 is whats blowing at the mo ?? but my car has gone haywire aswell
perhaps it was built on a friday ???? lol

Just one quickie - does the wire thing that goes into the centre back of the lighter housing screw in or just push in? It is a bloody nightmare to get in, and i have strained muscles on my wrist i never realised i had!

managed to get the lighter affixed and the wire insterted, new fuse 8 in place, and all is well again - my stereo definitely works from Fuse 8

Handy tip - insert the wire into the back of the cig lighter housing before screwing and securing the housing. It is much much easier. Simply get your hand round the back, get hold of the wire and push as far out throught the lighter hole as possible, then keep hold of it and keep it central, and then simply slide in the lighter and insert the wire into the hole. You will know when it's in as the lighter will not pull back out.. Then hold the main housing from the rear and screw the lighter in, and hey presto.

Does anyone have a list of what fuse does what and also what relay does what, I think most people would find it useful when the electrical gremlins come out to play

It is in the handbook, although the accuracy of this info is open to debate, as my Cerb alone has proven

Yeh I know, thats why I asked! Was wondering if anyone knew what they where 'actually' for as oppposed to what they where suppost to be for.
