Hi all

My 156 sportwagon is due its 90k service. I'm reluctant to take it to EMG Ford (the new Alfa franchise in Cambridge) and pay the £250 they want!

So my question is what exactly needs doing in a 90k service?

I had the cambelt done at 60k so I assume thats ok?

btw she sailed through her MOT last week so I don't expect any major problems.

Have a look in your manual - it will tell you roughly what needs doing.

£250 doesn't sound too steep, though.

I think that sounds OK too, Alfa are normally quite expesive, my rep puts his expenses in after the service and it is considerable more that £250.

Yea I guess £250 isnt bad for a main dealer.

Indeed. You'd still be better off finding a local specialist, though.

Having said that, perhaps as its a new franchise they won't be a "typical Alfa dealership" yet?

£99 Using genuine Alfa parts and Selinia oil.

However, if your cambelt's 30K old, you're going to need another at 36K. I charge £299 for that or £599 if the pulleys weren't replaced last time. Alfa usually demand £1300-£1600 for that little job...
