New owner questions
Discussion
Hello all.
I've had the Mondial 3.2 a few days now, and have a couple of questions, if I may. (Apologies if these are all answered in a 'Idiot newbies' thread on Fchat or the like). I think I've been a bit spoilt by the easiness of the 8.32 engine.
Should I be giving the engine any special treatment - letting it warm up from starting or the like? Obviously I'm not revving the nuts off it from cold, but what's the recognized procedure?
So far I'm using 98/99 RON - is this correct?
I wanted to change the tyre on the spare as it's the only one not like new. I looked up TRX tyres and
. I'm wondering wether it would be worth swapping the wheels for 348 alloys, just to give me a better selection of tyres. Any guidance?
TIA,
Rich

Hi Rich.
As far as the warm up goes, just stay below 4k until the oil has warmed up a bit (first 'notch' on the gauge). Don't 'lug' it either though (too high a gear for the speed causing the engine to shudder) as this is worse than revving. Go easy on gearchanges too for the first mile or so, maybe double clutch on second or skip it until warmed up.
If the 4 tyres on the car are like new and only the spare is low (but I assume legal) why worry? Just use them as is - unless thay are old/hardened/cracked. Maybe change the wheels when the rears have worn out (IMO 348's look good on Mondials).
I use optimax/98 in my 348 by habbit, but I bet I would not notice any difference with 95.
Chris.
