I don't know if i'm missing something, but i don't understand the point of driving around in a convertible in the cold wearing a fleece hat. I don't know if it's a stupid question or the people are just stupid to buy a convertible in england and to drive around without the roof on when it's cold.

You are missing something.
Actually you're probably missing two things. A convertible and a fleece hat.
How come the UK is the largest buying country of buying convertibles in Europe. There must be something wrong with us, considering the bad weather and little opportunity to take the roof down.
Wouldn't a tin-top be so much better considering there is less scuttle-shake and there is little opportunity to make use of a convertible?

The roof comes off the car for most journeys - temperature is not a restriction, rain maybe - but then I'll take the Focus. The whole point of a convertible is to get the wind in your... well, thinning bits, or if it's cold, a hat. How's the beige Morris Marina doing?
And Nissan Micras are just sooo economical, you just don't need a car with more than a 1.0 litre engine

Skiing holidays are cold too, got anything against them ?
Edited to add: There is the small problem that your picnic blanket, tissue box, nodding dog and trilby might blow about a bit on the rear parcel shelf which may also be a problem for you

I do actually go on skiing holidays as a matter of fact. I only did not like manual for town driving because i've been driving into town for years and i find it annoying with putting the clutch down every secon. ( and i do know the cupra is a 6 speed manual btw.)
I just made the comment about the hats because i thought convertibles were made for countries with sun and not rain.

Rain is a bit of a problem, but you don't need the sun.. Try a blatt through the Peak District on a moonlit night for example.. Ok, can get chilly, but decent gloves and a coat and the problem is sorted.. So far, my ratio of roof on trips to roof off trips is about 1:7..

I've read an article about Stanley Mann, who delivered a blower-Bentley, which has just undergone a restoration, to Berlin.

When its drizzling you need the hat to keep the noggin warm & dry. OK so I get the pi$$ ripped a bit (SR 3 an example) for wearing a flat cap but I get to hear the engine/exhaust a lot better, birds, comments on the car from pedestrians and even other car drivers. The benefits outweigh the pi$$ taking. Also I have been known to take it to extremes however there were plenty of others this month with the tops off blasting around Dorset/Somerset so I can't be that mad.
