Is this an S screen?
Discussion
Hi
I chipped the screen getting it out the car, and so I'll need a replacement at some point. I'm pretty sure it is an S screen that's been used, but not positive. It's triplex with the TVR logo, and a reference '43R-00006' in the bottom right corner. Seems to be the only reference on the glass apart from the certification stuff. Sound like an 'S' reference?
Thanks

Except it's actually a Tuscan racer that the screen is from, which I understand was made with an S screen in mind (hence the question), but it may have been modified to take a more 'popular' screen as a number have been...so I still need to identify what the screen was I took out. My money's on it being from an S, but not so much that I'd risk ordering one on the offchance it's from something else.

Very good.
So which of these is fitted to Willie's tuscan racer then? That is the question.

As a guess, a proper tuscan racer has the S cockpit/body shell, I'd plum for the 'S Tourer' out of those

Just out of interest - whose part numbers are those?
They're not TVR numbers or Autoglass for example?

They are Eurocodes. These codes are allocated in a chronological sequence for each manufacturer's model range; the first two digits identify the manufacturer and the second two identify the model.
The much earlier TVR 3000M Coupe (1956-59) is identified by 35** which is the Ford identification code. The 92 and 93 prefixes identify the later, or 'OTHER' (TVR) manufacturer codes.
As Glassman says, the 43R code is statutory information on the glass and gives no clue as to what the screen fits. For some reason, glass manufacturers are very reluctant to include the Eurocode within the statutory information to aid identification.
The original Tuscan Series cars (to 92)use the 9255 screen. Don't be surprised if the 9255 and 9265 screens become hard to get in the coming months. One factory is having production difficulties and another is having quality issues.
We have stocks of most TVR screens including the Tasmin, 3000S, Griffith, Tuscan, Chimaera, M & S Series and Vixen. We offer a fitting service and can bill your insurance company.
