Had a brief run on a Dynapack on Monday with my new engine.

Wont go into details, but its 382 with a Vortech YSi blower.

There were a few issues with the dyno cycling or doing strange things around 4500rpm ( may be partly due to my Torsen diff too ), but with a little less timing, I got a smooth run, which gives me something to work from.

All figures are of course at the hubs. Pump fuel only. It was a long 800 mile weekend !
Not exactly the coolest weather for it either.

Also ran 11.05@138.66mph at Avon Park in the soaring heat on Sunday.

Its almost getting there

It's nice to see that it can all happen within stock rpm's to! Nice work Stevie.

rpm scaling is slightly off ( lines dont quite cross at 5250 )

My rev counter reads slightly off, which is where he set the dyno off. So peak would have been closer to 6000rpm.

That said, we didnt try revving it any harder anyway, although on the track it was still pulling hard to 6600rpm.

I'd like it to rev a little harder, so more mods to come to help that. I had hoped it would peak around 6500rpm.

Hi Stevie!
I noticed that too (5252rpm). Nice power curve though. What cam are you using there? as that'll decide pretty much where the peak power rpm is.
You purposely running it quite rich? (11.3:1 afr in the sidebar).
Temps won't matter if SAE correction applied. Though the higher temp would have been compensated for by the high pressure though (1017mb) if it was un-corrected.

With that kind of power you could win Bathurst!!!

Nice one stevie turbo, very impressive results indeed. Just out of curisity what sort of power does your blower account for as 15 p.s.i. is a substantial amount of induction, my blower is 8 p.s.i. currently and I would guesstimate its about 120 'ish' brake, my guesstimate is not based on facts though.

I did purposely run rich on the dyno, as I wanted to play with ign timing a bit, to see what differences it would make, over what I was starting with. TBH I could vary it quite a bit, and gains werent that great ( if any at all ) which was a little surprising. So i just left it retarded a bit, and safe.
I wanted AFR's to stay rich, for safety. I wasnt concerned that it may produce less power, as simply getting a big graph wasnt my aim. That said, injectors are maxing out at 5000rpm, although AFR's are still under control despite that.
I had issues with injectors when I got this engine running and had to use a set I didnt really want to, so that isnt a concern and will be sorted over the next few days.

Cam is 224/230 on 115LSA, so not big by any means, but not small either.

V8HSV. Its not as simply as xx psi gives xx HP gain. Different blowers etc all have different efficiencys and have different power producing characteristics, even at the same boost level.

I did expect boost to end up around there, but I stupidly ( or safely ) decided to use a lower compression than I really wanted. I could skim the heads at a later date though if I wanted to raise it though. I'll probably leave it where it is, unless I need to strip the engine for any reason.
I didnt want it to be on the ragged edge as far as timing goes anyway, so Im more than pleased everything is very safe at this level, in readyness for more modifications

Will you ever be finished modifying Stevie? Ive seen posts from you from years ago adding new exhausts, etc, etc.
I fear I may be slipping into power addiction myself.

Ive a couple of more things to do with this engine, then thats it with this project.

It almost has enough power for me, yet is still totally driveable and useable. I even averaged about 22/23mpg during my trip at the weekend, which isnt bad at all. ( not including track/dyno time obviously )
Aside from it perhaps breaking the gearbox or something, I dont think I'll need to spend much more tuning it anyway, as there is no reason why it shouldnt be reliable as it is.
