Nice.. How did you get that done? Mine could do with a quick once over..

When it was in with David Batty, he sent them off to Spit and Polish. Approx £50 a wheel. Very impressed with the quality.

When they cut them back did they relaquer them?

Thanks,

The wheels look very smart. I think you've been diddled on the new hood though!

They do look good.

Are they a polished finish? I contacted a national wheel refurbisher when I had a TT but they said nothing could be done for polished finishes - only brushed/matt dull type finishes.

I like the design on the body - is that a paint job or are they stickers of some sort?

They've been polished and then a clear laquer applied on top. Guess I might have to keep them clean now.

The livery on the car is laser cut vinyl.

This is what they used to look like!

Mine were polished by the previous owner but not relaquered so require polishing on a regular basis to keep shiney. This have proved beyond me sadly so mak have to get them done again and laquered this time so they should require a simple wash than a full blown autosol polishing session.

Cheers,

Mark

Wow! I can see why you're so chuffed with the finished result!

Apparently it's not that simple. When I had mine done I had a long chat with the guy about it, and he told me that the lacquer doesn't stick to the wheel very well when it's diamond cut because it's too smooth a surface, so it's far more susceptible to stone chips etc., and then you're back to square one (I think this is also why you see lots of S threads about people refurbishing their wheels ).

That's all fine if you've got time to keep up with the TLC on the wheels, but it was the main reason I decided to go for powder coating on mine (even though I think the polished wheels have to edge, looks-wise), as I have trouble even getting enough time to give the car a wash as much as I'd like, let alone make with the lipstick and mascara treatment.
