At the moment, I have a router which connects to all three of our PCs (1xlaptop, 1xpc upstairs and my main PC)through network cables, which can look very untidy (especially the one running up the stairs!)
I have no idea which is the best/least hassle to set up wireless router that has the capability to connect to our other PCs.
Is there an 'all in one' package I could buy, that contained all that I need without having to buy extra stuff to enable the other PC's to connect?
(am about to order a couple of HDDs from Scan, so I'll wait a while to see if anyone can recommend a good solution for me )

Thank you (again)

Chris

Sorry if I'm missing the point, but you'll also need wireless PCI cards in your desktops, and a wireless PCMCIA card for you laptop, unless it's built-in.

Or you could get USB wireless adapters but I've heard they're not always as reliable.

That's why I asked if there was an 'all in one' solution, as I didn't want to buy anything else - hope that's what I have just bought! lol

Just had a quick look on Amazon, and it looks like the £83.75 is just for the router, you'd still need the wireless cards listed in the 'accessories' section half-way down this page:

www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B000BRYOQ8/202-8492487-2859854

Depending on the make/model of laptop it might have a wireless card built in, but otherwise you'll need 1 x WPN511 PC card and 2 x WPN311 PCI card for the desktops.

Cheers for that, too late now, can't cancel my Amazon order - only the laptop has wireless capability, and my new mobo, but am sure it'll be flakey..
Hey ho

Would this do?;

Chris, don't assume your new motherboard signal will be flaky mate, the two I've seen were just fine.

PS - good router choice.

It would work, but I don't think you'd get the benefit of the fancy Rangemax aerials - I think you'd need the WPN111 for that.

from the amazon page it looks like you can claim a free USB wirless card...

amazon said:

Claim a Netgear RangeMax WPN111 Wireless USB 2.0 Adapter (as sold for £44.75) when you purchase a Netgear DG834PN RangeMax MIMO-G Wireless ADSL Modem Router with 4-port 10/100 switch. Excludes sellers other than Amazon.co.uk.

edited to add - the claim bit doesn't seem to work

Didn't see that! It may turn out to be only the kids PC that needs an adapter - I was panicking a bit due to the horrible thought of spending another £150 on parts I didn't know I'd need! (thats why I asked for an 'All inclusive package')
I may leave setting it up until I revieve the adapter, otherwise the kids will kill me if they haven't got their 'Bebo' internet!

OH, the wireless router has arrived, and I note that it has 4xnetwork cable sockets on the back, the same as my 'wired' router.
For now, could I simply plug the exsisting network cable into one of the slots in the wireless router for the kid's PC, until I get the adaptor for their PC sorted?

Cheers
