There's nothing wrong with the one in the car at the moment, but it's worth planning the next project well in advance... After all, how much longer is a 100k mile Griff engine likely to last?

Engine mods so far amount to a fancy ECU (no airflow meter), some overly large sequentially driven 1% flowmatched Siemens injectors with near full-time closed loop fuelling using wideband sensors, 8 direct-fire coils (so no dizzy) and an alloy radiator (with ECU controlled fans)

Currently I'm preparing to fit some ACT manifolds and looking at building a slightly enlarged twin throttlebody plenum (mainly to tidy up that side of the engine bay for the Growl... )

The question is: What next?

Other than driving it for a while and seeing what happens (which is what I intend to do in case Norbert500 is reading!!)

Have you considered the super charger that TVR Power is developing?

I should have said that while the 5.3 is a supurb idea, I won't be going down that road:
1. Insurance issues for a capacity increase - I'm limited enough (under 30 with a Griffith as a daily driver) as it is...
2. I want to stick with 5.0 for sentimental reasons.

Supercharger looks promising. I have control facilities built in to the ECU already that I'm not using and it would be a shame not to use it... But I wonder if it'll spoil the way the car drives? And to go for reasonable power, it'll likely need a new engine anyway - and I've seen a (very special) 5 litre NA engine make 404bhp...

If you think insuring a 5.3 is difficult/expensive then don't even *think* about supercharging it!

Fair point there. I have found that many insurance companies won't entertain me increasing the capacity of the Impreza, but are quite happy for a dustbin-sized turbo to be fitted. I assumed this would hold for TVRs as well.

And reason #2 in my previous post is very much the most important. I'd like to see how far you can take a 5 litre RV8 without resorting to some form of cheating

A single turbocharger up front and a remap would be a viable option and bolt on. You wouldn't be without the car for long either.

Neither.

Finally get what you have running and allow the owner to enjoy her car.
