Warranty Issues

My first post is I think a sensitive subject....!! Got my Griff last September from a reputable Dealership in London (any guesses!) with 12 months warranty included in the price. Just recently noticed it had a small fuel leak under the tank and the fuel gauge had not worked for some time.

A fuel pipe has cracked so no warranty cover on that...? Fuel Gauge faulty wiring so no cover on that either. It's not going to cost the earth (£200-£250) to sort. What do you think?? Should it be covered, as I know Warranty stuff seems to get a bit cloudy! Thanks!

What does your warranty specify is covered?Some are very comprehensive,covering just about everything,then some provide minimal cover to just basic driveline componant failure.

How much is the paper, that the warranty is written on, worth?

The value of the warranty, in most cases, is slightly less than that

I have to admit most warranties are pretty worthless, unless it specifically covers for wear and tear, unless it breaks or goes bang they seem to be able to wash their hands of most things saying "thats wear and tear sir". They said that to me when my diff went all "slip" and no "limited" :-(

When I got my Griffith the dealer offered me two warranties: either a 3 month comprehensive or a 12 month limited warranty. The 12 month one being very limited, subject to referral to a 3rd party insurance company and only covered major components of the car. I went for the 3 month item and that was direct with the garage and fair play (nearly) everything I found wrong was fixed FOC.

I think the least painful way out of the corner you are in is just to take it on the chin, get it sorted, write it off to experience and move on.

Don't let the problems stop you enjoying the car.

Limited warranty is what I have it seems. They are trying to sell me a complete all singing all dancing warranty when this one expires for £1600.00!! Covers everything sir they say....!! I think I will sleep on it me thinks! Good news pick up me Griff tommorow, hood down and off for a blast somewhere countryfied!!

It seems whatever they cost to run(within reason)....a nice sunny weekend and its all forgotten!
