Word trouble

Hi guys,
whilst typing in a word document, the text changed to red and has a line through the middle. The colour won't change back to black and it can not be deleted. Any ideas what has happened?

sounds like you've got "Track Changes" turned on.

Go to Tools -> Track Changes and this should toggle it off

Or Cntrl + Shift + E will do the same thing.

Thanks a lot, thats what it was. I have turned it off, but what is it used for?

If you get someone to proof read and correct a document, these features allow you to see what changes they have made. Much as it appals me to say anything nice about Word, this feature actually works fairly well
