I'm very interested in a Tuscan that is for sale at a garage in Bedlington (just outside of Newcastle for those not in the know. I don't want to name the Garage, but the name of the town is part of their name). Has any one ever dealt with this garage? Are they any good? The car has 6000 miles on the clock, W reg and looks in excellent condition. What should I be looking for in the service history (eg. engine rebuilds and software updates). I know these questions get asked all the time, but it's a lot of money for me to spend on a car, and it will be getting used as a daily runner. Any ideas? The garage also have an S reg 4.2 Cerbera (Not advertised yet). Would this be a better daily car? (I travel aprox. 60 miles per day) Your help would be appreciated.

i know the garage you mean but have never dealt with them, all i would say is make sure it has FSH by TVR which is every 6000 miles or 12 months which ever is sooner and valve adjustment at 1000 miles and every 24 months or 12000 miles. Get it fully serviced by the local TVR dealer before you get it but all i would ask for is that the dealer has authority to rectify any problems they find during the service as the little things can add up to BIG bills and naturally a very good warranty preferably with purchase price claim limit. Drop me an email including a contact number if you want to chat.

I have just Bought a W plate private RR with 5.5K on the clock. How much is this up for? Make sureyou don't get stung paying £££££'S MORE When you could by private.

You can by a policy for around £750 pa from called TVR sprint, covers everything if you are worried about the warrenty element etc.

I've just bought a new Tuscan from HHC in Harrogate and met up with the guy from HHC Hexham who seemed to be an OK sort of bloke. It might be worth seeing if they've got anything or get them to check it over for you. (If it's a native NE car they probably sold it in the first place).

In May 2002 (8 months ago) I purchased privately an X reg Speed 6 with 8000 miles on the clock for 27500. The car has been faultless..... methinks you are paying a tad too much and should shop around. For the money they are asking you should be able to find a Red Rose version and still have change. That is soooo mad. When I lived up there, that garage was a crappy Rover garage, now it's got TVRs lined up outside. How come they weren't there when I was a bored kid wandering round Bedlington looking for something to play with?

BTW, 15 miles is a little more than 'just outside Newcastle'
