Can anyone offer advice on changing both gear box & diff oils ie types to use, frequencies, upgrades eg redline, ease of job etc?

My Chim 500 has only covered 8,500 miles but the fluids could potentially (due to low mileage) be 8 or 9 years old and probably due a change. I have done this job easily before in other similar cars but if anyone has any advice hints or tips they would be most welcome.

..it should have been changed at the 24, 48, 72 month service at least, along with the brake fluid (I take it you have a service history?)

Use the casrol semi-synthetic 75W-90 in the box and the Valvoline Limited slip diff oil for the diff, don't use ATF in the box its bl@@dy awful for gear and bearing wear but does help the synchromesh.... so will give an easier shift right up until the point where 5th gear welds itself to the shaft ( on a T5 box anyway)

Thanks
It has a service history but I can't imagine anyone doing a fluid change in gbox & diff every 2 years after 1k miles, I may be wrong, but I would prefer to do it so I know its been done. I know it was every 4 years on previous cars.

I have my gearbox and Diff oil changed every year.
Maybe overkill but its not a huge job on top of the rest of the service.
