Well just had a call from the dealer. Looks like I’m without the Monaro for another weekend but they did say it should be ready by Monday Lunchtime. Only taken 20 days to fix. Oh 25 if you count there first attempt. Driving it now seems like a dream so it will be like taking delivery all over again. Still I have had the opportunity to drive some other cars.

The first time it went in I had a 1.2l Corsa. Which I had to insure!!!
The second time the garage hired me a 1.8l Zafira until Vauxhall came up with a 2.2l Astra Elite Estate (Business Demonstrator) with 69 miles on the clock and loaded with all mod cons (I love the remote powered tailgate and satnav).

So what do the rest of you get when your beloved goes in for service/warranty work. And who insures it!

Those of you that use Greens need not answer you lucky Bards just wish they were closer.

It filled with water every time it rained. It was so bad in the back N/S foot well the water was laying on top of the carpet

There is your answer... get your Monaro serviced by a Porsche dealer .. but remember to bend over because your gonna get "serviced" well and truly

Your lucky that the local council didn't find out otherwise they might have increased your water rates!

According to Vauxhalls own literature, you are supposed to get the equivalent model or - in the case of higher spec cars - their top of the range Vectra 1.8. My nearest dealer in Edinburgh gave me the grottiest i.e. filthy inside and out Corsa 1.0 to get to Glasgow for a business meeting. It did do 93 though before it started to splutter and only cost about £10 in petrol! Could it be the little things that make us shy away from our local dealers? Set up a branch up here Caspy!!!! please .......

I normally get the Monaro from Greens too but this time I (cheekily) asked for and got a black Astra VXR.

Great cars btw, am trying to persuade Mrs Nige to get one.

EVANS HALSHAW, Crownhill Vauxhall, Watling Street MILTON KEYNES. Though not one high on my recommended dealers list. IMHO they defiantly need to pay more attention to "Customer Service" in all aspects of doing business with them. (Was that tactfull enough)

Now I've got to wait until it rains again to see if its fixed!

Only one service so far and I was given nothing to drive home in, add that to the fact the service wasn't complete until after 7pm... such a joy to own a vxr monaro!
In the days i owned a 330ci, always got a 318 or 320 with very low mileage, clean and ready to go.

All to be expected I suppose.

Did you ask for a car when you booked it in?

The usual trick is to say they're all booked out, that way the dealer doesn't look bad.

Although 'Drive' garage in Bristol said to me all their courtesy cars were booked out for at least the next month!
