help - I am installing into my upgraded PC a new WD SATA HDD and have the follwoing STUPID questions . . . .

1 - the rear of the HDD has (amoungst others) 3 connectors - the NORMAL power socket that my old HDD used, a small SATA socket that, via a cable fits into the MB - and a longer socket that looks like a longer version of the SATA socket - what is this last item for - my MB also came with a cable that has two plugs for these long sockets and a power connector the same as an old HDD on the end of the cable!!!

Do I need to plug POWER into this long cable - yes or no please!!!!

Do I just use the NORMAL 4 pin power plug/socket for my new HDD???

HELP

Both are power points - so choose whichever you prefer or your PSU has proviso for.
Simple as that.
