My SC does not like this weather, mainly causing the motor to rev up to 3000rpm shortly after start up. any ideas?

Check your Lamba Sensors should be pulsing between +1 and 0 volts I think, If they say cold to the ECU the ECU will increase revs to heat them, but normally results in hunting no continuous burn

no not hunting, it never has done that, it usually runs ver flat and even, just that at the moment a bit faster than i'd like!

in that case I would say that it is normal. Its only running higher because its that much colder than normal.

good news!!! Take it out for a good blast - this cold weather is not too good news for an aircooled Porker. How about a drive to VW?!?
