where is h20 temp switch for fans ?

I drained & flushed my cooling system, I replaced the LHS radiator hose, and I replaced the gauge sendor. Now I have no leaks and an accurate temperature gauge. What I don't have now is auto-switch on the fans. Manual switch still works because I had to use when I spotted the temperature hitting 85 on the now accurate gauage.

Could it be air in the sytem near the fan's temperature switch ?

Or do the fans somehow use the same sendor as the guage ?

The thermostat is in the top of the rad, on the front face, nearside.
If you get a torch, get down on your knees, and look in through the front grill you will see it.

It has an ignition switched live supply which then goes to switch relay 4.

Steve_d - thanks. Obvious really. On the Sport, or at least my one, the fan switch is in the top third of the rad on the drivers side. I took the two wires out the fan switch and connected them together and with the ignition on, hey presto, the fans work. So that eliminates all the wiring & relay & fuse etc. I now realise that draining and replenishing the coolant, then finding the fan switch doesn't work, isn't a coincedence - it's an air bubble init ?

So undid the fan switch until water came through. Will test again tomorrow. Oh I love kit cars.
