Soft top trouble
Discussion
I did a temporary fix on one corner using some waxed thread I picked up from a shoe repair place (it's like carpet thread). You can just about push and pull the needle through with the aid of some pliers. Difficult to keep neat, but not impossible. Fairly summed up as a minor pain in the arse, I think. In the next few weeks I'm going to need to do a similar repair to the inner velcro patches before they fall off completely.
Christ you'll need fingers of steel to do it yourself, i know its probably not that cheap to fix but when the stitching starts to go its usually due to it rotting with age/weather.
I got mine restitched for 150 quid at a trimmers in Bristol (its a roof fabric off job)
Strong as old boots now.
and no so expensive as i thought (car back same day)

and no so expensive as i thought (car back same day)You can go down to the yacht chandlers or sail makers and get a half moon needle which makes it easy to stitch with hood in place and very strong , and a hand palm which is a thimble (in the palm of your hand ) but more like a glove so you can push hard and some black yarn used for making spray hoods for boats ( strong as you like but same thickness of thread as standard ). Total cost around £10-£15.If you go through the existing holes in the hood it will be so hard to tell its ever been repaired. If they are restitched on a machine you usually will get 2 set of holes the old and new unless the machinist is very very good.

The stitching on the rear soft top window has gone in the top corner. Has anyone experienced sorting this out? Is it a DIY job or have to be done by a specialist, or even replaced? Any suggestions please.
