Help - any Cerb owners on now?

OK, 2 seconds after trying to help the guy get into his ? car I realised I may have been a bit daft, I was still recovering from my first Club F3 race at Donington on saturday. I give loads of free help and advice to tvr owners including drivers out in france this weekend trying to limp home with problems etc. I think that many posts on PH overstep the mark in minor ways but seem to remain without repremand. ie owners who have had the trust bestowed on them to enter the parts department of the top tvr centre in the country and then had the nerve to print all the part numbers on view to him on PH,ok you guys may see this as a public service and a help to reduce running costs but don,t moan when these REAL experts are no longer there and can,t sort out your problems.I don,t want this to turn into one of these long boring rants,so thats it for now but any info that I gave is avalable from many sources...Cheers...DP

So, tell me how does that relate to posting how to get into 'our' cars on an open public forum?

I don't understand your posting GazzaB.
I see that Dave has taken umbridge about being pulled up for putting how to get into 'our' cars on a public forum, but he goes on about a totally different matter and obviously has an axe to grind about someone sharing part numbers. He also goes on about helping TVR owners - good for him, I do too, if I can, including trailering a sick Cerb back from a Sprint meet, but again I fail to see the relavence.
Anyway, I'm sure Dave had the very best intensions when he posted so I'll apologise if he took my posting to heart. But my car lives on the driveway at night and having some pikey skum know how to get into it doesn't fill me with joy.

If some pikey skum was wanting into the car they could still just pop a window to get in, the key is not to have anything worth stealing on display as your average pikey probably wouldnt have a clue how to go about stealing a cerb and would be looking for a stereo etc. If somebody really wanted to steal your car its more likely to be a professional and they would know exactly how to get into the car anyway, best thing to do is have a decent alarm/tracker/imobiliser and if it comes to the worst.....your still insured

Well, what did you expect? I had my everyday car damaged to move it out of the way so that someone could get to my two Elises a few years back, obviously not a professional as they failed to get into an ancient Honda Legend! So, there are opportunists out there, so, why help the little sods by publically posting how to get into your car?
