Henry and Izzy,
I would appreciate some feedback on my pics from a competitor and a professional. I am not a professional and I understand listening to feedback will help me improve. You can access my pics from the link on my first post.
Ray.
Also wanted to say thanks to Dan and Paul for their positive comments.

I use the canon 100-400, great range but (big but) somewhat of a pain in poor light (f5.6 at the long end). Assuming you're using Canon: if you're feeling flush, the 300 2.8 is the way to go as it will happily take the 1.4 or 2x TC without degradation in image quality. Otherwise, just crop or you could get a 1.4x TC and still retain the AF (I think). If you're using Nikon, then Paul is the person to ask!
Izzy,
Thanks for the reply. I currently have a Nikon D50 and a Sigma 70-300mm f/4-5.6 APO Macro DG. The total cost of my equipment is therefore only £600. This is my first DSLR, which I purchased only 2 months ago. I don't have much spare cash (if any!) but was considering the Sigma 135-400mm f/4.5-5.6 APO DG as a cheapish way (around £400-450) of getting to 400mm. I am finding that with a lot of my shots the autofocus is not fast enough, is that caused by the body or the lense? Sorry for all the questions, I just want to learn as much as I can from an expert.
Cheers,
Ray.

lol I'm no expert!!!
I'd say go for the best lens you can afford, that's what will make the most difference. Don't know those sigma lenses, have a look on the Fred Miranda site www.fredmiranda.com/reviews/

Great photos. As a competitor (PS1 - car 98), I particularly like looking at the ones taken in the same spot of ourselves (not vain, honest) and others (esp other Type Rs) so that we can compare line, wheel lift etc.
Thanks!
I'm off to look at Izzy's next....

Oh well if that is what you like, I've added an album of a few Type Rs from Saturday for you.
If you click on 'original' under the photos you will get the 800px versions.

Hey Paul, there are great shots there thanks for the link to let me know. the Sagaris went well even that it's the first time the car had ran and we got 2 x 3rd in class. A lot more to come from the car but a great start. Paul i did see you a couple of times but i seemed to be under both of the Marcos for most of the weekend so never go to say hi so apologies for that!
Cheers
Darren
