First timers at Le mans, how was it for you?
Discussion
It was my first time to Le mans and it was fantastic, I went with the TVR car club and took my VW caddy van (Mr Bebee and Miss Beana)
The drivers parade through Le mans town was unbelievable, I'm hooked and will make a habit of going every year. I wish I'd taken the Griff now, but will next year.

I had to come back early, being disabled and not being able to walk that far, kinda spoilt it a bit. My first time this year so didnt know really what to expect.
I'll be back next year, just need to find a way of getting around thats better than a car (because the traffic was dire) and also thats not 2 wheels (i cant ride a bike).

got back at 6am this morning and just starting enter the real world again,
it was my first time and because i'd been looking forward to it for so long i was concerned it might not live up to my high expectations
shouldn't have worried as the whole experience was fantastic
every one was really friendly from start to finish, the noise the sights the people... excellent
i didn't realise how many people from the UK go to Le Mans, it seemed like a British event held in France.
I've never seen camping like that before, a crowd near me turned up with a removals van full of every home comfort you could think of...
10/10... will be there next year
ps the cerbie ate all the miles no problem

We had a bloody good time!
Managed to get it right first time, had the luxuries of leccy hook up, gazebo to keep cool, a fridge, a lovely camp site with plenty or clean good showers, very good comapny and a village close by for fantastic food.
Croissants and Pain au choc every morning, steak and sausages with french bread for our dinners

a campsite in Spay
Absolutely excellent time.
Stayed in Houx with some old hands, which always helps, so had fridge, barbies, electricity etc.
Too busy with races etc to hunt out many PH'ers, but a big hello to Rich1231 and Oggs. Next time, I'll be more sociable, but I seem to recall being a littel hungover most mornings, which was nice.
Can't wait to get into work, and watch the blank, puzzled faces of the people who wouldnt understand if it bit them.
Anyone breaking their MotoGP cherry as well this year?
Marcus

Got back at 6,30pm after a 12hr drive from Karting Nord to Cumbria via the tunnel, managed to get on a crossing 2.5 hrs before the one we booked.Realy good Journey back, got stuck in traffic on M25 and M1 but not for long.
Highlights.The weather.
The racing.
The atmosphere.
The drive there.
Arnarge roundabout and the bars on Friday afternoon/evening.
Not getting booked for speeding.
Lowlights. Not being organised at all.
Packed campsite with not enougth toilets or showers to cope.
Watching the theiving scum ramsack the Grand Prix Tours campsite even though some people had'nt left and scavaging there way through peoples tents and belongings.....VERY sad to watch.
Over all a very good weekend, fantastic seeing the cars and hearing the noise of those Corvett's at full chat, certainly something every car entusiast should experiance at least once in a life time.

was my first time too and i made the right choice staying at the houx annexe, the atmospehere was brilliant, the roundabout mayhem was exellent, had a fantastic week. i'm used to seeing all the cars at FIA GT and LMS but to see them all through the night was good and circuit was very good. we turned up in style for first timers, we were the ones in the 6 wheeled bright green steyr puch pinzgauer
met some fantastic people too, everyone was so friendly, it made me very proud to be british.

Yep.. Abso-Fab-Tastic !
1100 miles.. in a Lotus Elise.. ha !
Had a fantastic trip, didn't know what to expect but was blown away by it all. Shame we had to leave before the end of the race, but the thoughts of battling with Pikeys, and the possibility of a 4hr chugg out of Le Mans after the finish were deciding factors.
We were next to Grand Prix Tours tents too, it's a shame and almost unbelievable to hear about scumbags rifling through their tents...Grrrrrrrr!
- Still no room for a baseball bat in the Elise boot anyway... Doh !
Will definately be there again next year though

My first time, with 2 mates, all of us LM virgins and we loved it.
Stayed in the Houx Annexe in a big f*** off tent with a 5m tall Alpinestars banner outside. The perfect setting for what has to be the best camping and best racing experience I've ever had. And I've had a lot.
I monkied around on my TL1000s pulling wheelies (No. plate V15ORD you mighta seen it) but packed it away when the big boys came out to the roundabout in their 50k+ motors! It was funny watching some people - clearly having their first attempt - drifting half a mortgage around a tiny roundabout packed with onlookers. Braver than me ..the drivers and the people on the outside of the roundabout, that's for sure!
I was amazed at the number of TVRs there too. I thought only about 50 were sold every year to middle-aged accountants who enjoy a spot of village cricket but it seems every man (and his wife) have a TVR. Well, at least the French must think we all drive TVRs..
Great times. Respect to the '4 Arabs in a Bentley' that had me in stitches.
Great PH turnout too. Kudos.
See you next year.

Good things!
- Went as a fuel sponsor in an Ultima GTR - great fun to finally have a ride in one after reading and ogling at them at shows, this included getting personally aquanited with the V8
- thanks to all those that stopped!
- Enjoyed seeing lots of nice cars doing burnouts...etc (and a caddy breaking its universal joint - oops).
- The pit walk, the cars, the noise
- Not thinking about work and getting drunk enough to speak utter shite to people I'd just met
Bad points
- Coming back in a Focus.
Overall great fun
