A question for all you ECU gurus out there - Does the ECU control the fuel injection only, or is there an ignition map in there too? My assumption is no ignition map as the distributor has vacuum advance (and presumably mechanical too).

Correct !
The ecu just does the fuel.
The dizzy is standard cam driven thingy.

That's a bit naff isn't it? They might as well have not bothered with the ECU and stuck with fully mechanical injection.

BTW Anthony, nice griff. How come it's a 400? I thought all early griffs were 430?

Buy yourself an aftermarket ecu!Becoming more and more popular all the time, comparatively very cheap compared to having the Lucas mapped each time you add different mods etc.You can map your ignition through the dizzy or coil packs, and run semi,or fully sequential injection. The best bit is just how cheap it is to map on just about any rolling road in the country.I've just changed my fuel pressure (for more performance without the need for bigger injectors),and will, when i finally need them, fit bigger injectors, all without the need to have a rolling road session, thanks to my Omex ecu!!
Once you fit an alternative ecu, you'll never look back
