Some nice bright but soft light about in Swindon on Sunday so I managed to snap this. Used a 12mm extension tube with the 50mm f1.8 lens. Vignetted it a bit with a pink background, sharpened, added the borders and that's it - not even any levels adjustment - I feel quite empty and redundant with so little manipulation ! Real chocolate box stuff I'm afraid...

Nice image! But I think the borders are too strong for the image. This is purely my personal taste, but I'd prefer without them or make them a lot slimmer.
would the borders look any better slightly larger in white? then they still give distinction and definition but dont detract from image.
just a thought, keeping the pink outline would work nicely in my imagination at least.
I'm not too keen on white borders as they tend to look too bright hence the large area of pink - though I might try a cream/light yellow next. Anyway, here's a slightly different version but its still not really there, it can be frustrating deciding on how to get the presentation just how you want it. A simple rose my foot !
I think it may need some more space around the subject.
