Hey Guys - I have just bought myself a T350 (collecting this Wednesday) and I'm having a bit of an insurance nightmare.

Basically, I had a crash a year ago just before I could protect my NCB. I've not got any points and I've been driving for 8 years.

The best quote I can get is from Elephant at 1395, is that a realistic quote? has anyone got any top tips for where to go?

Thanks in advance.

How about getting an online quote from Tesco.

I've not been able to better them on a load of cars from a Range Rover to a t350.

I don't have points/accident history, but I started insuring TVR's with them from the age of 24 and have never paid more than a grand.

People like A. Manning and Sunninghill (Bagshot) are usually around the cheapest. Some people have got good quotes from Directline/Tescos too though. However, remember you want an insurer who understands the car and won't force you to repair it at a generic bodyshop next to Mondeos and Puntos.

Some insurers give the best quote if you've had previous experience of a high performance car (my girlfriend was OK even though she only drives a TT with 4WD etc. etc.).

My Tamora is insured with Elephant, renewal just came through. I looked elsewhere and they were the cheapest, so Elephant's pricing seems right. Good point about adding mum/wife etc. Putting my wife on as a driver reduced the premium and there is no way she will or want to drive it. (I think others in the same boat know what I mean).

Hollow legs you are one lucky mother with that quote. Think my problem is that i live in the Gateshead area which puts my premium up (even with it garaged !!!)

Hi Alastair, quote seems good to me.
I was up at Hexham paying the deposit for my T350 when you dropped in with the Porsche. I'm just over the West side of Newcastle so i'm sure i'll see you around.

Collecting Mine on Saturday can't wait

Yup, the T350 from Westover. Why? Is there anything wrong with it? I’ve already paid pretty much (big deposit down)
Im a little bit gutted at the trade in price, swapping for a Boxter which is totally mint.

Doesn’t matter, the t350 will more than make up for it 

Still confused about the quote, dinged and Audi ages ago and now have at least some no claims and I still can’t get the quote much below 1400.
Hey Ho – got’ a pay to play 

Mine is £1304 with 5 years ncd and protected I 29 with 6 points and thats with A Plan, I also declared a full sports exhaust although I have since learned this was fitted at the factory from new so probably could have left this off and said it was standard.

Definately try adding a lady this bought the price down for me...

I think £1350 is not bad

Nope nothing wrong with the car at Westover's (infact it ran sweeter than any T350 I've heard so far) I know Chris there very well... decent guy will look after you well... hope to see you around the area!!! Have fun!!!

Thanks so much - got me worried for a 2nd. Yes Chris does seem like a very decent chap and I am very happy with the purchase.

All the best and thanks again.

Give A Plan a try - I'm 28, 8 years NCB, 3 points, car is garage and on a 6k policy and I paid £770. Next nearest quote from the usual suspects was about twice that

Hi,

I haven't got a T350 (YET!) but just looking in the classifieds and it got me thinking...

I just got an online quote through www.confused.com

Value 26k, 2003 model T350C, 8000 miles per year, Social only
I'm 29,
8yrs+ NCB
2 claims in last 5 yrs: (1 non fault accident £1000, 1 Theft - contents from car £400)
With my girlfreind on it (27yrs old, 1xSP30/3 points, no claims)

...came to £1100 with Budget

<edit - They just came back to me with a price of £884 with Peoples Choice but has £700 Damage Excess >

Interestingly, removing my "pointed up" girlfreind increases the quote by circa £300. Blatant case of "Computer Says No" statistics!

Anyway, give confused a go.
